Hello and welcome to Cantell Maths & Computing College’s Library; my name is Mrs Rendell and I am your school librarian. I am currently developing the library to meet the needs of staff and students so please pop in to have a look around if you haven’t done so already and tell me what you like to read so that I can make the library relevant to you.

The library has been relocated to its new position on the ground floor which has made it far more accessible to students in their break and lunchtimes. It provides a quiet environment for reading, relaxing and researching favourite topics.

We have a huge variety of both fiction and non-fiction books that students are welcomed and encouraged to borrow; either to read for pleasure or to help with their homework and studies. There are also many dual-language and foreign books for those students for which English is an additional language. Whatever your level or ability you will find a book suitable.

There is a small DVD/Video collection which students can borrow overnight; this is an area which I hope to start to expand during the next few years. Again I welcome suggestions from staff and students for titles that they’d like to see made available to support their learning experience.

Magazines are also available in the library for students to look at, from fishing and computers, to wildlife and geography.

Books, poems, plays, magazines all have the ability to transport readers to other places and times. So I would encourage any students who haven’t got a book out on loan at the moment to come in and take a look around.
