This group provides a focus for activities and communication involving all interested parties of the Cantell community, parents, students, teachers, local businesses and institutions and neighbours. Key words such as accessible, friendly, social, communication and non-political, describe the way in which the group will be operating. The objective of the group is to advance the education of students in the school by:
- Developing effective relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school.
- Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the students.
Examples of how money that has been raised is spent, can be found in the newsletter section Membership is open to parents of any student currently attending the school, teaching and non-teaching staff of the school and any other person associated with the school and its environs who wishes to offer appropriate support or help to the school and who is accepted by the committee as a member. Friends have held many successful events raising funds for various school projects. Your first point of contact should be the Chair of Friends of Cantell, currently Catherine Pope, contactable via the school or, alternatively, one of the Assistant Headteachers.
