Home/School Agreement
We aim to encourage the highest achievement of every pupil at every level, which will be in line with targets we are set by the Government. We believe that the partnership of the family and school is essential for success. Out commitment to "caring" in school must be matched by family support outside of school.
The School shall:
- Make every reasonable effort to contact parents if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality or equipment;
- Let parents know about successes, concerns or problems that affect their child's work or behaviour and arrange Parents' Evenings during which progress will be discussed;
- Record regular "attitude and attainment" assessments in the Pupil Handbook and present an annual Pupil Review;
- Set, mark and monitor homework and provide facilities for pupils to do homework in school;
- Keep parents informed about school activities through regular newsletters and notices about special events and will also publish school targets;
- Encourage and support the Parents Forum;
- Maintain the complaints procedure for parents.
The Parents and Guardians shall:
- See that my/our child goes to school on time and properly dressed and equipped: the school must be notified of any absence;
- Let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect my/our child's work or behaviour;
- Support the school's policy and guidelines for positive reward, behaviour and use of the Pupil Handbook;
- Encourage my/our child to reach the highest possible standard in school, homework and other opportunities for home learning;
- Make every effort to attend Academic Review Days and discussions about my/our child's progress;
- Get to know about my/our child's life at the school and consider actively participating in the Parents Forum;
