Learn with us challenge

Last Week, 5 students from Cantell visited Southampton University to take part in a Year 10 'learn with us' challenge. The group had been working hard since early February to design their own University. They had to consider marketing, layout, house style, logos, which course to offer and much more.

Cantell is only going in one direction and that is up! - I was worried how my son would fit in as he is so quiet. I need not worry, he loves it! - Cantell has a culture which is inspirational and ambitious for every individual - Our son joined Cantell only 3 months ago as a year 9 student. He has settled in really well and good progress is being made.

Half Term Revision

Please find our 'Revision Programme' for the May Half-term period.

Details about each session will be outlined in letters from the individual departments.

Letter from Mr Kutty about arrangements during the exam period - Summer 2013.

Should you have any questions about the sessions, please email Mrs Lambert on karen.lambert@cantellschool.lpplus.net

Cantell School

Cantell Maths & Computing College is a happy, thriving and successful specialist school with nearly 1000 students.

Our broad and diverse curriculum gives all our students the chance to shine; from those with special educational needs to the most gifted and talented, every student can realise their full potential here and beyond.

Our focus on the social and emotional aspects of learning has built a supportive, positive and motivated approach to learning. We ensure our classes are stimulating, challenging and rewarding, allowing individual talents and strengths to develop and excel. Whatever the student's forte, we'll find it and foster it. We have created an environment in the school that promotes high standards, mutual respect and creativity. Above all, students at Cantell work hard and enjoy their learning.

Our students’ progress is central to everything we do. Cantell aims to develop students' understanding, knowledge and communication skills and promote their emotional, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We encourage students to take initiative and take responsibility for their own learning.

We provide a curriculum that meets the needs of all students, within a community with positive relationships at its heart: this is enabling all our young people to enjoy success throughout their time at Cantell, developing the skills and experiences which will increase their life chances and life choices in a fast changing and uncertain world.

Another year to be proud of...

Yet again we are extremely proud of our students’ GCSE achievements.

We are delighted that 53% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths, which is above the schools’ target and is evidence of sustained improvement at Cantell.

This confirms what Ofsted found, when they visited us in February this year: we are a school "on the up", making rapid progress & improvements in all areas of school life. We are doing all the right things to enable us to fulfil our vision of becoming 'outstanding'.
