GCSE Mathematics
Exam Board: Edexcel
All students will be studying GCSE maths. The GCSE is tiered. Students will have been informed whether they will be sitting the foundation or higher tier.
The course is examined by three exams, each of 90 minutes at the end of year 11. Paper 1 is a non-calculator paper, papers 2 and 3 are calculator papers.
All 3 papers cover all areas of maths. These are divided into 5 topics:
Students can use their revision guides and workbooks which have been provided for revision. Revise how to complete the maths in the revision guide and then test yourself with questions from the workbook.

The following site produces a half paper for students to work through each week with an online session to talk through solutions every Thursday.
In addition to their Sparx homework, students are provided with a practice half paper which they can complete each week. They have access to a Google classroom where they can check the mark scheme to self mark their work and are encouraged to speak to one of the maths teachers if they need further support. Each paper also contains a QR code which takes them to a video walkthrough of the solutions.
In their maths Google classroom their are copies of the formula sheet students will be provided with in each exam together with links to a number of other useful resources.
