Permanent, Full Time or Part Time

We are keen to further develop our strong relationships with businesses across the Solent to ensure we fully prepare our young people for a successful working life. With an ever-increasing skills gap, we are determined to work with as many organisations across a variety of industries to help us inspire the next generation and enable them to leave with the right skills for an ever-changing workplace. We currently have strong links with a number of organisations supported by Natwest and are looking for a charismatic and forward thinking lead to continue to develop our links. We are determined to leave no stone unturned to eradicate the skills gap for our young people and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in this.

Our Team

Business Studies is an extremely popular subject at Cantell, with over 230 students studying this option pathway across Years 10 and 11. For that reason, we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated teacher to help us meet the needs of our burgeoning cohorts.

Our Business team are dynamic, forward-thinking and collaborative. We aim to deliver engaging and relevant content so our students are EMPOWERED* for their life beyond Cantell, with the knowledge and skills to pursue any entrepreneurial interests.

Our vision is brought to life by an expanding commitment to a range of co-curricular activities including:

  • Off-site trips: this year, Year 10 Business students visited Paulton’s Park, taking part in a marketing workshop to understand the main techniques used to attract different market segments.
  • Guest speakers: our Year 10 students will be welcoming the ‘Social Media Marketing Manager’ from FatFace to discuss how to grow a brand and reach new audiences through social media platforms.
  • Partnerships: our community is invested in Southampton City. We are aiming to create partnerships with key businesses and industries e.g. maritime, tourism, universities to provide vocational training and experiences.
  • Oracy opportunities: for the last two consecutive years our students have been the winners of the Solent University Business Competition, involving a business pitch about sustainability in the city. Our students stood out for their innovative ideas and excellent public speaking skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and imaginative classroom practitioner to join our successful and supportive team within Humanities. The successful candidate will continue to build on our success this year, showing the drive and determination for continuing school improvement and raising attainment.
