Governor Zone
Making sure Cantell is an excellent school is our aim and my role as chair of governors is made easier by an exceptional leadership team led by Harry Kutty. They have put Cantell in the top 6% of schools in the UK for the progress our students make, making us the best performing school in Hampshire and a real asset to the community of Southampton.
Cantell is a living example of continuous improvement. The whole staff team look at all aspects of school life, identifying what needs to be changed. They respond to the views of parents and are very easy to access. I know we are building on very firm foundations, and I also know that we will put in considerable effort to extend our success in the years ahead.
As governors we are volunteers who invest our time to ensure Cantell provides an excellent education. We have three main duties:
•Setting the long-term vision and priorities for Cantell
•Making sure the head provides an outstanding learning experience for all our students
•Ensuring the money given to Cantell is well spent and is used for our priorities
