EVERY CHILD MATTERS
The following members of staff are responsible for child protection and safeguarding at Cantell and can be contacted at any time if you wish to discuss any concerns:
Cantell School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our children in school. We believe that our students have a right to learn in a caring, supportive and safe environment; our staff are vigilant for signs of any student in distress and are confident about applying the processes to alleviate any problems or concerns.
We fully recognise our responsibilities for child protection. We have a Child Protection Policy that applies to all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to our school. There are 5 main elements to this policy:
Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm, safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment and that we all feel safe in our environment.
If your child is ever concerned about their own safety or well-being or about a friend, they should talk to someone; a parent, teacher, tutor, Head of Year or the Safeguarding Officer.
At Cantell we follow procedures as per the Southampton Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB). Further information on these procedures can be found here: http://southamptonlscb.co.uk/
